 ABOUT THE ADMISSION

B.Pharm

No of Seats 60 Intake
`Total Seats Available 220 (first year to final year)
Cut off Marks - 50% minimum at H.S.C. Level in PCB/PCM.
   

Seats Available for F.Y.B.Pharm

  • Through central admission process (CAP) - 65% of Intake (39 seats)

  • Management Quota Seats - 20% of Intake (12 seats)

  • Other State Quota through CAP - 15% of Intake (9 seats)

 

6.0 QUALIFYING EXAMINATION AND ELIGIBILITY

6.1 For Maharashatra State Candidate. (65% CAP Quota)

6.1.1      Candidate should have passes (1) higher secondary certificate (H.S.C.) std. XII examination of the Maharashatra State Board of secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics, and secured minimum 50% marks (45% for backward class candidates from Maharashatra State only.) in Physics, Chemistry and the subject of maximum marks amongst the 2 subjects mentioned above added together and,

6.1.2       Appeared for Maharashatra - Pharmacy - common entrance (MHT - CET 2005) conducted by competent authority.

6.2         Eligibility criteria for OMS candidates (15% CAP).

6.2.1        Candidate should have passes (1) higher secondary certificate (H.S.C.) std. XII examination of the Maharashatra State Board of secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics, and secured minimum 50% marks (45% for backward class candidates from Maharashatra State only.) in Physics, Chemistry and the subject of maximum marks amongst the 2 subjects mentioned above added together.

6.2.2       Appeared and qualified MAH - CET 2005 conducted by competent authority.

6.3 Distribution of Seat

Distribution of seats for academic year 2005-06 will be as follows -

a. Management Seats - 20% of sanctioned intake (For MS and OMS)

b. Common Seats (CAP) - 65% of sanctioned intake (For Maharashtra State candidate)

c. OMS Quota - 15% of sanctioned intake (For OMS and State)

 

6.3.1 Seats are reserved for Backward class candidates from Maharashtra state as given below:

a. Schedule caste & Schedule caste converted to Buddhism. 13.0%

b. Schedule Tribes including those living outside specified areas. 7.0%

c. Vimukta Jati (14 as specified) 3.0%

d. Nomadic Tribes (NT1) (28 before 1990 as specified) 2.5%

e. Nomadic Tribes (NT2) (Dhangar as specified) 3.5%

f. Nomadic Tribes (NT3) Vanjari as specified) 2.0%

g. Other backward class 19.00%

Total 50.0%

Note : Candidate whose mother belong to schedule caste but married with Hindu. Sheikh or Baudh is eligible for reserved seats for schedule caste subject to verification on such caste of mother and production of caste validity certificate.

6.4 Direct Second Year B. Pharm ADMISSION:

For the direct 2nd year B. Pharm. admission candidate should have passed the (Post SSC/Post HSC) Diploma in Pharmacy (D. Pharm.) from Maharashtra State or other state from an institute approved by Pharmacy Council of India scoring minimum 1st class (60% i. e. 720/1200 as per ER-81/and 600/1000 as per ER-91) in the first attempt. The admission of such candidate shall be subject to eligibility being granted by the University affiliating the admitting college.

Note - Any other changes / additional requirement in admission qualification as laid down by

Directorate of Technical education or PCI from time to time shall be applicable.

 7.0 Reservation in Seats

7.1 50% Seats are reserved for backward class candidate from Maharashtra State as specified as per Govt. Resolution no. Sankirna 2003/ (139/2003)/Tanshi - 1 dt. 16.4.2003

Seats are reserved for Backward class candidates from Maharashtra state as given below:

 

a. Schedule caste & Schedule caste converted to Buddhism. 13.0%

b. Schedule Tribes including those living outside specified areas. 7.0%

c. Vimukta Jati (14 as specified) 3.0%

d. Nomadic Tribes (NT1) (28 before 1990 as specified) 2.5%

e. Nomadic Tribes (NT2) (Dhangar as specified) 3.5%

f. Nomadic Tribes (NT3) Vanjari as specified) 2.0%

g. Other backward class 19.00%

Total 50.0%

Note : Candidate whose mother belong to schedule caste but married with Hindu. Sheikh or Baudh is eligible for reserved seats for schedule caste subject to verification on such caste of mother and production of caste validity certificate.

7.1.1 Candidate claiming to belong to categories e. f. and g above will have to furnish certificate for current year from appropriate authority that the candidate does not belong to creamy layer as per the relevant order of Government. Further it is clarified that if any of the a to g categories mentioned above does not get the required number of candidate for the percentage laid down, the seats remaining vacant shall be fillied in from among the candidate of remaining categories with reference to inter se merit of all candidates belonging to reserved categories. However the total reservation shall not exceed 50 percent. After doing so the seats remaining vacant shall be filled with reference to inter se merit of all the candidates.

7.1.2 Candidate claiming to belong the category of schedule cast/schedule cast converted to Buddhism/ST/VJ/NT1/NT2/NT3/OBC shall produce certificate or caste validity issued by appropriate scrutiny committee in the prescribed form or as laid down by the Government.

7.1.3 Application received without cast validity certificate shall not be considered as application for reserved category.

7.2 Five percent seats are reserved for children of Defence service personnel and Ex. Defence personnel permanently disabled or killed in action and the distribution of these seats between defence and Ex. Defence personnel shall be in the ratio of 2:3.

7.2.1 Out of the seats so reserved, 60% seats are meant for children of ex-defence service personnel who are domeciled in Maharashtra and 20% seats be reserved for children of active defence personnel who are domeciled in Maharashtra State.

7.3 One percent seats are reserved for Physically handicapped students. The candidate will be required to be certified by the Director, All India Institute of Physically handicapped Mumbai or Civil Surgeon in the prescribed form certifying candidate's physical disability and his/her ability to undergo all parts of syllabus of theory, practical etc. for pharmacy course. The admission of such candidate shall be given strictly on inter se merit of the physically handicapped students.

7.4 Five percent seat are reserved for marathi speaking community students from Mauritius students claiming against this category have to produce certificate from India High Commission in Mauritius to the effect that the applicant are from marathi speaking community in Mauritius. Application should be submitted to the Director of Technical Education Mumbai.

7.5 Fifteen percent seats of intake capacity will be the 'Management Quota.' students will be admitted in this category on the basis of merit of the students applying in the category.

7.6 Certain seats shall be reserved for nominees of the agencies authorised by ministry of Human Resource Development, Dept. of India as may be agreed by the State Govt. every year.

7.7 30% seat are reserved in all above category for Female candidate as per the provision in Govt. Resolution No. GEC-1000/(123/2000)/Tech. Edu./dated 17th April 2000.  

8.0 Admission  

8.1 Admission Process.

8.1.1 65% seats of intake capacity will be filed through central admission process (CAP) from Maharashtra State candidate eligible as specified in rule 6.1.1(For Maharashtra State Candidate. (65% CAP Quota) and 6.1.2 (Appeared for Maharashtra - Pharmacy - common entrance (MHT - CET 2005) conducted by competent authority.). These admissions will be done by the Director of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai or his nominee.

8.1.2 15% seats of intake capacity will be filled from candidates eligible as specified in rule (Eligibility criteria for OMS candidates (15% CAP).

8.1.3 20% seats of intake capacity will be filled by the principal under management quota.

Candidates seeking admission under these seats shall submit application for admission directly to the Principal. Candidates who are eligible as specified in rule 8.1.5 (Admission to Seats remaining vacant after CAP round and Management Quota) can apply for admission in this category.

8.1.4 15% seats over and above the sanctioned intake will be filled from candidates eligible as per rule specified in 6.3.1 (Eligibility for admission against 15% seats above intake capacity for Foreign Nationals / Foreign Students / PIO / Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries). Students should directly apply to the Principal for admission under this category. 1/3 of the 15% seats shall be reserved for Indian works in the gulf countries.

8.1.5 Admission to Seats remaining vacant after CAP round and Management Quota.

Seats remaining vacant after central admission process and (...) Management quota seaks will be filled by the Principal from eligible students -

a) All Maharashtra candidates who are eligible for admission as per the eligibility mentioned in Rule no. 6.1.1 & 6.1.2.

b) Diploma holders who have passed the Diploma in Pharmacy with min. 50% marks from institution recognized by AICTE.

c) Out side Maharashtra State candidates as per eligibility mentioned in rule no. 6.1.1.

d) Diploma holders who have passed the Diploma in pharmacy with min. 50% marks from outside

Maharashtra State with English medium.

Note - Seats under management quota and seats available after CAP round and 8.1.6 will be filled after giving admission notification in the newspapers like Lokmat / Lokmat Samachar / Lokmat Times / The Hitavada / Tarun Bharat / Dainik Sakal / Dainik Bhaskar / and local news papers. Separate admission round will be carried out admission in above category.

8.2 Merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in common entrance test out of 200 and / or marks of H. Sc. examination in the subject Physics, Chemistry and subject of max. marks out of 2 subject mentioned in 6.1.1 added together.

8.3 No rounding of the marks secured by the candidate will be done in individual subject or grand total while converting marks of individual subjects out of 100 or total marks out of 300.

8.4 In case of candidate securing equal marks their relative merit will be fixed on the basis of the following in the order of preference given below -

Candidate qualifying CET with higher marks out of 100 in the subject Biology / Mathematics then Chemistry then Physics in MHT-CET exam. and in last student passing S. S. C. exam with higher aggregate marks out of 750.

8.5 Candidate seeking admission can raise an objection by written complaint to the principal if he has reason to believe that Merit is not given correctly or his name is omitted. Such complaint should be lodged within given time.

8.6 Admission will be done through counselling by College authority (Principal) after notifying final merit list.

8.7 After completion of admission process For Maharashtra State condidate remaining seats if vacant will be filled from OMS Candidate as mentioned in 8.1.5.

8.7.1 instruction for outside Maharashtra State candidates (OMS) -

a. OMS candidate will be admitted in OMS category or in management quota only. (If seats are vacant)

b. OMS candidate should have passed qualifying examination within two years from year of his admission.

c. OMS candidates will be considered only in open category even if they belong to reserved category in their state. No relaxation is allowed in eligibility criterion.

d. OMS candidate should produce original school / college leaving certificate of the institute last attended.

e. No duplicate leaving certificate will be accepted.

f. If there is a gap between qualifying examination and the year of admission candidate should

submit an affidavit on a stamped paper stating the factual position for the gap.

9.0 Application and documents required

9.1 Candidate should attach with application form Xerox copies of certificate as mentioned in

(No application will be accepted for consideration unless it is accompanied by the attested copies of documents. For all candidate (including B. C. candidates)

1) Certificate of marks obtained at qualifying examination.

2) School / Institution leaving (after qualifying examination) certificate.

3) Certificate of marks obtained at S. S. C. or its equivalent examination.

4) Domicile certificate of parent/guardian Nationality certificate.

5) Transfer order showing the date of transfer of his/her father along with joining certificate from

head of office if required as per rule 6.5, 6.6.

(6.5 Son/Daughter of central Govt. servants or Govt. of India undertaking servants transferred to Maharashatra State will be considered eligible for admission if they have passed at least the qualifying examination from an institution in Maharashatra State but may have passed their S. S. C. or equivalent examination form outside the state. However candidate must produce a certificate from the appropriate authority regarding the transfer of his/her father to Maharashatra State.

6.6 Son/Daughter of Maharashatra State Govt. Servants / Maharashatra State Govt. undertaking servants transferred to Maharashatra or have returned to state from deputation to central Govt. / Govt. of India undertaking are eligible for admission even if they have passed their S. S. C. examination and /or the qualifying examination from institution outside the Maharashatra State. However the candidate must produce a certificate from appropriate authority regarding the transfer of his/her father to Maharashatra State.)

6) Medical certificate in prescribed proforma.

9.2 For the candidate belonging to backward classes.

1) Certificate of cast validity issued by appropriate scrutiny committee as prescribed under 7.1.2 along with certificate of cast and category.

9.3 For candidate belonging to NT2, NT3, OBC category 1) Certificate for current year issued by SDO/Deputy Collector/Collector concerned stating that the candidate does not belong to Creamy Layer. (Non creamy layer certificate).

9.4 For children of Armed forces personal domiciled in Maharashatra or transferred to but not domiciled in Maharashatra, certificate as mentioned under 7.2.1

9.5 For physically handicapped candidate Medical Certificate from Civil Surgeon as mentioned under 7.3

9.6If a candidate is unable to produce the required original certificate at the time of his/her admission, it is made clear that such candidate shall be required to pay the fees then and there only and submit the required original certificate to the admission authority within 48 working hours as a period mentioned by the authority, candidate shall sign the undertaking for the same. If He/She fails to submit the certificate within given period the admission shall be treated as cancelled and no refund of fees shall be granted. Application received after the last date and time prescribed will not be entertained under any circumstances.
